What is CBZ file?

These files represent an archive that contains a series of images that can be in jpg, png, or gif formats. They are arranged in a specific order and packed with the ZIP algorithm. Alternatively, another algorithm can be used. Besides Zip, rar is most often used, the ending is then cbr.
In addition to the images, a CBZ file can also contain a txt file whose contents (eg table of contents, information about the comic) are the first to be displayed when opening the CBZ file in a comic reader. The Comic Reader shows either one or two pictures at the same time. The images can be scaled and their colors can be automatically compensated.
Simplifying viewing of digital comics is the goal of the ComicBook Reader.
The CBZ files are in principle only renamed zip files and can also be opened by different packers. Therefore, CBZ files can also be easily created by yourself. All you have to do is save the desired pictures in a Zip archive (do not compress them).

How to open file with CBZ extension?
Install Comical or other program from the list
Most often resolving problems with opening CBZ files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support CBZ files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of CBZ files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
Set Comical as the default program for opening CBZ files
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate CBZ files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the Comical applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where Comical has been installed.

Sometimes problems with opening CBZ files may not lie with the application itself, but can arise due to other causes, such as:
- File data is corrupted
- CBZ files has been not been completely download from the internet (only a part of the data has been downloaded)
- Currently used user account hasn’t been granted necessary privileges to open CBZ files (should that be the case, please contact your system administrator or IT specialist)
- CBZ file was being copied from a corrupted storage device and is incomplete or data is corrupted. (Copying files from unknown or untrusted sources should be conducted with great care as such files may contain malicious software, which can damage your system)
